I spent 30 years in the wine industry, giving me a perspective most wine buyers never see. I started by managing wine grape vineyards on California’s Central Coast, then began buying vineyards, growing grapes, and selling them to wineries. Eventually, I started a winery using fruit from those vineyards.

That experience taught me wine from the ground up. I learned how vineyard location, climate, farming, harvest timing, wine making, and producer discipline affect what ends up in the bottle. I was not just reading labels or following scores. I was growing grapes, making wine, building brands, selling wine, and seeing how the business works.

As a small winery owner, I saw how much influence distributors, large wineries, retailers, advertisers, and brand prestige have over what consumers are shown. Too often, visibility has more to do with marketing power than actual quality.

That frustration helped inspire Your Next Bottle.

I believe wine buyers deserve independent advice focused on their taste, budget, and occasion — not on what a retailer wants to move or what a distributor is pushing.

Over the years, I tasted wines from many of the world’s best regions and learned that price does not always equal quality. In blind tastings, I often found $25 bottles outperforming wines that cost far more.

For years, friends and family came to me for wine advice. Your Next Bottle offers that same honest guidance to customers who want better wine without confusion, pressure, or bias.
